Dr. Hughes was born and raised in Visalia, California. He earned his Bachelor of Science from University of California, Merced where he did 3 years of research in the Nobile Lab studying oral microbial life.

Dr. Hughes graduated Summa Cum Laude from USC Dental School where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery. During his time at USC Dental School, Dr. Hughes worked on the Dr. STAT anesthesia team where he gained experience treating complex cases. For his efforts, Dr. Hughes was awarded the Horace Wells Award granted by the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. In addition, he was also nominated to be a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society.

Dr. Hughes is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Santa Barbara-Ventura County Dental Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Hughes aims to serve his patients with the highest level of compassion, respect, and understanding. He offers his patients the latest techniques in modern dentistry as well as implant dentistry. He actively participates in advancing his practice by taking courses in esthetic and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Hughes seeks to help his patients understand how one’s oral health impacts their overall well-being.

During his time away from the office, Dr. Hughes enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, and oil painting. Dr. Hughes is a volunteer for the Global Dental Relief where he travels abroad and treats under-served communities globally.
